The capillary microbiome
A living ecosystem, key to hair density and regrowth
The scalp is a skin that houses a fragile microbiome, and at Démélé everything starts with respecting this balance in order to protect it and promote beautiful hair.
What is the scalp microbiome?
The hair microbiome refers to all the microorganisms (bacteria, fungi) naturally present on the surface of the scalp.
This microbiome:
- protects the skin barrier
- regulates excess sebum,
- contributes to the balance and comfort of the scalp,
- promotes optimal conditions for hair growth .
As with facial skin, it all starts with balance .
Why is it so important?
An imbalanced microbiome can lead to:
- Itching
- Dandruff
- Excess sebum
- Thinner, more fragile hair that falls out more easily
Conversely, a balanced microbiome allows for:
- Strengthen the scalp's skin barrier
- Soothe the environment of the hair bulb
- Preserve a healthy and sustainable growth cycle
- Reveal stronger, shinier and healthier hair
The microbiome does not clean itself excessively: it regulates itself .
Before stimulating regrowth, a favorable environment must be created.
That's why at Démélé:
- Our shampoos, scrubs and masks are formulated as skincare products.
- They respect the microbiome and the scalp.
- They prepare the ground before any targeted action on density or anti-fall.
A healthy scalp =
✔ a better oxygenated bulb
✔ a better anchored fiber
